What is Peer Pressure?

Thanks in part to your ongoing support, the Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL) team held another girls’ mentoring program on the topic of Peer Pressure. Twenty-five young ladies between the ages of 10-20 years old in Freetown attended May's mentoring session.  See the full photo album of photos here.

The topic of peer pressure was discussed with Dr. Catherine J Cole, who is a certified medical doctor.  She covered seven key components of peer pressure:

What is peer pressure?

Where does peer pressure occur?

How peer pressure occurs?

When does peer pressure occur?

Why does peer pressure occur?

Types of peer pressure

How to avoid peer pressure?

The girls all participated in discussing the seven topics and answered questions. It was a very informative mentoring session and they concluded with lunch and each girl receiving an umbrella. Your support is continuing to change girls' lives.

Families in Sierra Leone face unprecedented challenges due to rising costs. Inflation makes it difficult for them to afford basic food staples such as rice, cooking oil, and onions.

Extending a helping hand can alleviate a significant burden and provide essential relief to the less fortunate.
