The Vocational Skills Training That We Are Providing is Creating Jobs and Increasing Productivity
Report Filed by Sylvester Renner:
I just returned 2 weeks ago from a trip to Freetown, Sierra Leone. During the trip, I had the opportunity to meet with some of the ladies that we are supporting together. It was so fulfilling to talk with them and to hear of how the support that we are providing is making a difference in their lives. Through the sewing machines that have been provided they are learning how to sew and become independent.
In this group and in Sierra Leone in general, vocational training continues to be in high demand. This training provides a reliable means of livelihood and a path to financial independence. For many of the beneficiaries in Sierra Leone, this is so very welcome as it provides a source of livelihood. I recently ran into an article that emphasizes the importance of this training:
"Skill training is critical for sustainable industrialization and poverty reduction in terms of creating a critical mass of technically and entrepreneurially qualified people, who are able to stimulate investment opportunities, create jobs and increase productivity. A well educated and trained workforce is a prerequisite for harnessing the potential of competitiveness and industrialization."
The ladies asked me to bring back their deep appreciation to you for your current and future support. This support is providing a vital lifeline - in more ways than we can imagine!
I came back encouraged and In high spirits. It's a good feeling to know that together we are making the world a better place! We are making a definite impact together.
I also came back determined to do more. We can do so much more together. We invite you to join us in doing more by signing up for a recurring donation today. Thanks for your ongoing support!
