School Supplies & Clothes Bring Smiles To Kagbaray Primary School

Kagbaray is a small village in the Karene district in northwest Sierra Leone, located three miles from Kamawornie village. The village has one primary school, and due to the absence of secondary education, children must walk three miles daily to attend school in Kamawornie village after completing primary school.

The community of Kagbaray faces severe shortages in basic amenities, including educational items such as books, pens, bags, and school uniforms. These essential supplies will not only improve the pupils' academic performance but also boost attendance by better preparing and motivating students to attend classes.

The Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL) team recently distributed clothing and school supplies to 50 children from classes 1 to 6 at Kagbaray Primary School. This included 30 school bags, which were the first backpacks for many of the pupils, who previously had to use plastic bags for school.

Providing clothing helps alleviate the financial burden on families and is crucial for the children's well-being and confidence, enabling them to participate fully in school and community activities. These clothes can also serve as school uniforms.

This initiative supports the students' educational endeavors and enhances their overall quality of life. It reassures the villagers that external organizations are invested in their well-being and development. This effort highlights the positive impact that targeted donations can have on small communities, fostering growth and development.

Donor support is instrumental in helping students in Sierra Leone receive their education and equipping them with the tools necessary to become future leaders in their communities.
