2 Ladies Receive Microfinance Tailoring Toolkits - Big Thank You to Choose a Need

We are delighted to share about the provision of 2 more microfinance tailoring tool kits from Choose a Need. Earlier this year, Choose a Need provided 10 microfinance toolkits. The DA team and the beneficiaries are deeply grateful for their life-transforming and overwhelming support.  Below is a brief profile of the two beneficiaries and a link to photos.

Mariama lives at Upper Philip Street in the Wellington community. She was a displaced from Kenema and is staying with the family of her sister in a two bed room apartment with no running water and electricity.  The husband of her sister is a guard / security office and the main provider of the home with monthly income of $40 - not enough to cover the basic needs of the home.

Mariama and Howa - microfinance beneficiaries
Mariama does most of the domestic work at home and was hoping to have a means of livelihood until a start-up kit for tailoring was presented to her.

She was so excited to receive the gift of machine start-up kit presented by Choose a Need and Develop Africa.  She believes her life will never be the same.

Hawa lives with her husband and four dependent relatives in a two bedroom, unfinished building with no running water and electricity.  The husband is a brick layer / construction worker and the main provider of the home with monthly income of $50 - not enough to cover the basic needs of the home.

Hawa dropped out from school because her parents could not afford to pay her fees.  She was compelled to get married partly to ease the financial burden from her parents.  Hawa is passionate about changing her life by becoming self-reliant.  She extends her thanks to Choose a Need and Develop Africa for the provision of a microfinance tailoring start-up kit.  She is now confident about achieving her dream of becoming a seamstress.
