Girls Mentoring on Entrepreneurship

Thanks to your ongoing support, the Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL) team held another girls’ mentoring program on the topic of Entrepreneurship. Twenty-two young ladies between the ages of 10-20 years old in Freetown attended April’s mentoring session.

The mentoring session was a success with guest speaker, Luz G., making a virtual presentation on entrepreneurship and then having a Q & A session.  Luz identified entrepreneurs as problem solvers; she asked the girls to write down ten problems in their community that they would like to solve.

She later identified steps process for effective business problem solving; building brand (s) or product(s) that is a need or want and can be affordable. She asked the girls to divide into groups and form a business from the problem listed earlier and share it during the session.  Luz finished by congratulating the girls on their journey of becoming businesswomen.

Your support is continuing to change girls' lives. If you are not yet a recurring donor, we warmly invite you to consider setting up a recurring donation. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way. Consistent support is the key as this is the best way to ensure ongoing impact.

Families in Sierra Leone face unprecedented challenges due to rising costs. Inflation makes it difficult for them to afford basic food staples such as rice, cooking oil, and onions.

Extending a helping hand can alleviate a significant burden and provide essential relief to the less fortunate.
