Develop Africa Newsletter - Ebola Good News
Tired of hearing the bad news about Ebola? Here is some good news:
- We conducted an awareness campaign in the Wellington suburb of Freetown. The team shared information on preventive steps that community members could take to keep themselves safe from infection.
- We distributed health / cleansing items - soap to 238 adults, youths and children. 98 bottles of Dettol disinfectant to family heads / heads of households.
- We air shipped by DHL on Tuesday August 19th a large box stuffed full with personal Protective Equipment - for Ministry of Health and Sanitation health workers in Sierra Leone. Thanks GlobalGiving donors for making this possible!
- The box arrived in Freetown on Monday this week. We hope to provide photos and a video in the next week or so.

Chan blames the size and severity of the outbreak - which has killed 1,350 people - on poverty. At least 2,473 people have been diagnosed with the virus. Read more...
