Computer Training
In today's technology-driven world, access to computer skills training is essential for youth empowerment and economic advancement. However, many young individuals in Sierra Leone face barriers to acquiring these skills, hindering their education and employment opportunities. The digital divide disproportionately affects youths from underserved communities, limiting their education and employment prospects. Traditional schools and colleges lack adequate computer education and facilities, leaving many young individuals without essential digital competencies.

FAWE Computer Lab-The FAWE All-Girls Computer Lab in Freetown, Sierra Leone, teaches around 130 girls between the ages of 9 and 14. This vital facility provides these young girls with access to computer technology and essential digital skills training, paving the way for a brighter future in an increasingly digital world.
Empowering girls through computer training is not only a matter of equity and social justice but is also essential for driving sustainable development and economic growth in Sierra Leone. By investing in girls' education and providing them with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in the digital age, we can unlock their full potential and build a brighter future for all.
For many of these girls, this is the first opportunity that they have to use a computer. The training provides these bright girls with the foundational computer proficiency skills that they need. They gain basic computer literacy and word processing proficiency. They also have access to a networked server with books, study guides, and a wide range of digital learning materials. Each student has access to an individual computer, allowing for personalized learning and skill development.
We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world. - David Warlick
