Continued support is helping to provide long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) also called bed nets or mosquito nets to families and individuals in Sierra Leone. These mosquito nets create an effective barrier and provide protection from mosquito bites while families sleep.  Because of the mosquito nets they received, families like Sallay's family pictured here and Aminata's can now sleep without worrying about mosquito bites at night

Volunteer, Breyden Stanton, shares her experience as a volunteer the past couple of months at Develop Africa.

Your support helped provide children in Kamawornie with new shoes, bringing smiles to the students. You can watch some of them receiving their new shoes in this video https://youtu.be/U9IW_riKCds  

Many families in Kamawornie, a remote village in northern Sierra Leone, live in extreme poverty. The new shoes were greatly appreciated by both the students and their parents.   Thank you for your generosity!  

Africa’s disaster response has surprised many as cases, relative to further developed nations, have been low. Though there has been a 1.2% increase in cases since Mid November 2020 as winter has approached,

Africa has maintained low morbidity: 2.1 million cases compared to America’s 13 million cases. The continent’s death rate has totaled to 51,000 deaths and has been a minor mortality source in the world’s overall affected rate. However, there is the possibility that the lack of testing and fear of health care promotes false numbers.
