Hello friend and partner,
We wanted to bring you an urgent update on the Ebola epidemic and our joint efforts to help contain it.
Ebola update - the bad and ugly: The Ebola epidemic has spread to almost all districts in Sierra Leone with a total of over 1000 people dead in West Africa. Another doctor passed away yesterday, Thursday.
Ebola update - the good:
- Currently, all children, youth, adult beneficiaries, and members of the DA team are safe and have thankfully not been infected by the Ebola virus.
- Multiple organizations and countries are helping in various ways to end this crisis.
- Earlier this week, we distributed soap and Dettol disinfectant in the Wellington community (more information and photos soon).
- Personal Protective Equipment Received: We have received the first batch of personal protective equipment (PPE). See photos and more info below.
- GlobalGiving is matching donations at 100% today towards this crisis. Make a donation now! Your support will help provide more personal protective equipment for health workers.

Elize, a Develop Africa supporter is helping to make a difference.
As told by Elize:
Earlier this year I accepted an invitation to compete in the 2014 111 km Ultra - The High. Taking place on 17 August in the Indian Himalayas, a high-altitude desert region of Leh-Ladakh, the course crosses over the highest motorable mountain pass in the world, Khardung La (17,700 ft).
If you want to support Elize's cause - provide a mosquito net and save a life from malaria - visit www.theadventuresofone.net and click on the link to donate $10.
