This page discusses costs related to donating the following items:

• Books
• Clothing and shoes
• Toys 
• Any other items that are not "school supplies"

We are happy to receive and distribute the above items to African children. However, we need your help covering the shipping and delivery costs. 

Please carefully note the following:

• We cannot cover the shipping costs related to your donated items.
• Shipping internationally is expensive. Please carefully review the costs below before proceeding. 
• The cost of shipping your items could be more than the actual value of the items themselves. 
• Shipping costs vary depending on how much you are shipping and where you are shipping from.
• We suggest that you consider donating an amount equal to the cost of shipping. We will then purchase the items locally in Africa.      
   

Your Financial Responsibility

• Cost 1: You are responsible for shipping your boxes to our agent. We cannot estimate the cost of shipping your box to our shipping agent. This will vary based on the box size and your shipping carrier.       
  
  Optionally - you could drop off your items at our agent's warehouse in Glen Burnie, Maryland or Brunswick, NJ.      
   
• Cost 2: We ask that you cover the shipping and delivery costs from the USA to Sierra Leone. Your contribution to shipping costs helps us fulfill our mission.  

Cost 2: Shipping and Delivery Costs

The shipment & delivery costs are $20 per Cubic foot.  This covers local delivery to the last mile. It helps us ship and place the items in the hands of the children. This cost includes: 

• Shipping from Maryland, USA, to our office in Freetown, Sierra Leone
• Delivery to local schools.   
   

How to calculate the number of cubic feet:

• Search the internet for a cubic feet calculator. Follow the website instructions to see the volume in cubic feet.

  • Or you can use the calculator embedded at the bottom of this page. Change the entry values to inches.  
    
    This calculator also includes a box to add the cost per cubic foot ($20)
     
• Multiply the cubic feet volume by our shipping and delivery cost of $20. The result is the cost that you need to donate (Cost 2)

If you decide to proceed with shipping your items, below is the process that we have established after doing this for over 15 years. This process minimizes delays and obstacles.      

1. Please fill out this form to inform us of the number of boxes that you plan to send and their dimensions.

2. Donate here to cover the Cost 2: Shipping and Delivery Costs.  
    
3. We will then provide a mailing address and instructions

4. You will then ship the boxes to our shipping agent
