Science Lab Supplies Distributed to Secondary School
The Develop Africa Sierra Leone team visited the Services Secondary School and distributed science lab supplies for the students. In Africa, most especially in Sierra Leone, science students have been challenged with a lack of proper laboratory equipment in carrying out practicals and experiments.
During the distribution, the Program’s manager, Abu, told the pupils to put the equipment to good use and make sure not to allow the challenge of life to stop them dream big. He said-
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. They say education is the key to success, that is what people usually say but I would always say education is a poor man’s friend. The fact that you are from a poor background like mine does not stop you from dreaming big. So, what we are doing today, is to create a platform for you to understand that, we always have something to give back to society irrespective of our backgrounds. Your story must be different and that is why we are encouraging you all. This is just the beginning of what probably we could do depending on how far you guys will put this to use.
All of us here have the opportunity to achieve our dreams if we set our eyes on the big goal, it might be tough, it might be difficult, it might be unexplainable, but if you are determined you will make it. Life is always going to challenge you, so my encouragement is when life challenges you to move to another next level, you can surpass that challenge. Work hard, study hard, and you will be the next scientist that will change the narrative of this country. You could be the next scientist that will change the narrative of Africa, you could be the next scientist that will change the narrative of the world, we are counting on you. As an organization, we are proud that we could come alongside you and help.
Both the Principal and students were very grateful to the Develop Africa Sierra Leone team and donors for the generous donation of science lab supplies as they are very needed in Science Lab.
Your support for the future leaders in Sierra Leone is greatly appreciated.
