Hello Syl,

August means back to school for parents and here at Develop Africa.  We are so thankful for all the books and school supplies that we have received in the past couple months that will help the kids in Africa get back to school with the supplies that they need.

We are also very thankful to everyone who participated and donated in the GlobalGiving Bonus Day on July 15.  We are likewise so thankful for all of our child sponsors and all of the donors  that make it possible for us to continue our mission.  We deeply appreciate YOU!

These 7 drums of school supplies were shipped to Cameroon and will be distributed in September. All the supplies were generously donated to Develop Africa.  More photos...

Also thanks to your generous school supply donations, we recently shipped 6 drums to Sierra Leone. See photos...

Over 20 drums have been shipped between January to August 2015, but we have over 10 drums of supplies currently sitting in the corporate office...just waiting for the funds to ship these supplies to Africa.  Please help us by donating to help cover the cost of shipping to get ALL of these books and supplies into the hands of the children that they were donated for.

You can also help us raise money to cover the expensive shipping costs by just selling the items around your home, school or business on eBay and donate the profits to Develop Africa, which will go toward the shipping cost of the books and school supplies that are donated to us.

Creating Pathways Centre

Thanks to a generous grant from GlobalGiving, we are now providing educational training and psycho-social support to pregnant girls. With this educational lifeline, the ladies are able to continue to develop themselves - while out of formal school. You can read more here at a special website we have set up for this program area -

How You Can Help: Join us in providing on-going training by making a generous donation here-

Dream Home Updates

The Dream Home for Ebola orphans opened in May and currently houses 22 children who are orphans due to Ebola.  Raising and taking care of kids, as you realize, is not s simple task.  The proverb says "It takes a village to raise a child".  In other words, it takes much more than 5 or 10 people to raise these kids.  It takes a village.  That includes everyone.  That includes YOU.  Individual, families, organizations, companies etc.

We summarized information about the Dream Home in a PDF newsletter, for your convenient reading in 1 place.
